Since the Corona pandemic has made all of us vulnerable, I tried to find the motivation from the books. As I read the book by Dale Carnegie, I was amazed to find lots of useful insights given by the author. I listed down a few key takeaways from the book for myself and then thought to share it with others. Hope you will find it interesting and I recommend everyone to read this wonderful book, “How to Win Friends and Influence People”
1. You can’t win an Argument
- You can’t win an argument. If you lose it, you will lose it. If you win it, you lose it as you have hurt the pride of other people.
- If you argue and contradict, you may achieve a victory sometimes, it will be an empty victory because you will never get your opponent’s goodwill
- Make the other person feel important when you are talking
- Always try to avoid arguments
2. How to avoid making enemies
- If you tell someone they are wrong, they will never want to agree with you. So never tell another person you’re wrong
- You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him to find it within himself
